As a versatile musician influenced by jazz and classical music, David Brito completed a large part of his studies at the José Luis Paz Conservatory in his hometown of Maracaibo (Venezuela).
In 2003 he came to Switzerland to continue his studies at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in the class of Marc-Antoine Bonanomi, where he received the teaching diploma in 2006 and the concert diploma in 2009.
He then studied jazz with Bänz Oester and Larry Grenadier at the University of Music in Basel, where he completed his studies in 2014 with a master’s degree in jazz performance.
David Brito has been a member of the Argovia Philharmonic since 2009 (Solo double bass player), played from 2012 to 2014 as solo double bass player at the Musicum Collegium Basel and is a member of the Orchester de Chambre de Lausanne, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Zurich Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester Symphonique Bienne Solothurn and the Orchester de Chambre de Neuchâtel.
Since 2014 he has been teaching double bass at the Lausanne Conservatory and at the Music School and Music Conservatory in Jura.
From 2009 to 2019 he was a member of the group of the violinist and singer Yilian Cañizares, with whom he performed in concerts and tours in the most important concert halls and festivals in Europe and America.
