Anne-Claire Laurens began playing the viola at the age of 11, after studying cello for six years. She started her training at the Conservatoire régional de Toulouse in the class of Valérie Apparailly and later Domingo Mujica, where she received her award in 2008. That same year, she began her Bachelor’s degree at the HEM Geneva in the class of Nobuko Imai. After three years, she completed her Bachelor’s and continued with a Master’s degree at the Musikhochschule Cologne under Antoine Tamestit, graduating in July 2013 with “Very Good” distinction.
From 2014 to 2017, she pursued a Master’s in Orchestral Practice at the Orchesterzentrum Dortmund.
Professionally, she was a member of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen (2014–2017) and the Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover (2017–2019). Since 2019, she has been a violist with the Philharmonisches Orchester Kiel. In parallel, she teaches at various music schools and conducts children’s workshops.
